Glorious

Today was yet another glorious day in Provo. I love this weather.

Can we just skip winter this year?

Please?

On Fridays, I teach Learning for Life to 1st and 2nd graders. Today we learned about appreciating our differences. Basically the point of the lesson is to teach the kids that they are special because they are all unique. As part of the activity, they made awards for themselves. I told them to think of something they were good at then write it down and draw a picture to go with it. Before we started, I gave some examples they could use for their award. I said if I was making one I would write something like, "I am good at baking and decorating cupcakes", "I am improving my sewing skills", or "I am a good writer." One of the kids then suggested I could write that I was a good teacher. I, being the humble person that I am, chose only to nod in answer to this statement. Then one of my students, bless his little heart, raised his hand and said to me, "You are a good teacher you know." It made my day!

I went to an Austrian culture event planned by my friend Linda tonight, and I enjoyed myself immensely. Afterwards we watched Hot Rod (the first time for me). So I will now leave a few words of wisdom I gleaned from this movie:

Goodnight All! Have a splendid weekend!

  1. Hi Rachel,
Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog a few weeks ago (I'm a little late in catching up on visiting the blogs of those who've been to mine.) I just wanted to let you know that I'm reading the book you suggested (About a Boy) for my blog today.
